Domes of Elounda, Autograph Collection, Crete

We arrived at this hotel and were given a room upgrade to a room with a private plunge pool as being repeat Dones guests. The view from the room was simply stunning, looking out across the gulf of Elounda and Spinalonga Island. After a couple of not so good restaurant experiences we gave feedback to the management team. I could not of been more impressed with their response and actions. I can fully guarantee that the team will go above and beyond to make sure you have a great experience. The resort is located in one of the most idyllic spots along the coast and only a short walk into the small town of Plaka. We will return for sure!

I had the most amazing vacation at Domes of Elounda! I want to give a special shoutout to our concierge, Petros, who helped make this such an enjoyable stay. He went above and beyond to help plan our excursions and continue to check in on us throughout our stay. I highly recommend this resort!

Amazing resort with fantastic staff and a stunning location (we got perfect weather) however there were some issues in their opening week in April when we were there. No wifi or particularly hot water for the first 24 hrs in the room, room stunning but slightly damp smell when we walked in, Core restaurant first night all over the place -not handed a menu for 45 mins and then wrong food served (overcooked chicken and cold v strange tacos), beach restaurant ran out of chicken on the dine around by 7.30pm one night, Blend (steak restaurant) no steak on the dine around one night (usually amazing though), villa swimming pool pump not working entire stay. These were obviously first week issues - to go from no one to 93% occupancy must be a challenge but most will have gone when up to full speed so somehow need to address. This is not to put anyone off the hotel - it is fantastic - the beach is great, the staff are faultless, the bar areas/reception rooms are luxurious. Everything you could want and I am sure within a couple of weeks it was a well oiled machine. Couple of tips - go to Plaka for some authentic Greek food/drink (it would be great if the hotel embraced this with a couple of Greek evenings maybe), and whilst good probably skip the olive oil tasting trip as quite a long way and its as if you are going back to the airport! Best tip though - get the speedboat at 9am to Spinagola - you will have the island to yourself and worth every penny. We would definitely go again to the hotel but possibly May.

My husband and I had a truly spectacular experience at Domes. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. A special thank you to Mrs Patsani who works tirelessly to ensure each and every guest is happy and well looked after. She is a credit to the Domes brand, a truly exceptional person. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. Something I'm particularly picky about but it was faultless. The best part for me was the food...oh my goodness, it was heavenly! My favourite restaurant was Blend. They made the most amazing goats cheese salad. Everything was so fresh and of the highest quality. The chef presented everything beautifully. Great location overlooking Spinalonga. You can walk easily to Elounda and Plaka and we caught a bus directly outside of the hotel to Agios Nikolas. Perfect, absolutely perfect in every possible way. 10/10

We had an amazing time at Domes of Elounda! The complex is very beautiful, nestles pleasantly into the landscape and offers an incredible view of the island of Spinalonga. Luxury à la five stars! Great and spotlessly clean house, very comfortable beds and our own warm pool with an incredible view of the bay. The food at the Core is very nice and tasty, especially for families - our kids love this place. All our wishes were fulfilled. There were always problems with the bill regarding the dine around - but we were always more than accommodated. The Haute Living service is great! One morning, beautiful helium balloons were delivered at 9 o'clock sharp for my husband's birthday (I paid for them, of course). The hotel donated a magical chocolate cake and champagne for his birthday. The entire team deserves special mention - from the cleaning fairies to the hotel manager Pantelis. I would especially like to thank Eleni, Chara, Panos and Petros - wonderful, helpful people who always seem to be working. We went on great excursions with our two teenagers (Spinalonga, safari up to 1,200 meters above sea level, private boat trip, cube cruising and Easter night in Agios Nikolaos). However, there is one thing I would like to point out and have already discussed with the hotel manager: There were lots of nice activities for small children, but no real program for teenagers. The teens club is nicely done, but the focus is too much on gaming (Minecraft, Fortnight). There is definitely a need for action here. Nevertheless, I can say that I have rarely returned home so deeply relaxed and satisfied, because practically every wish was read from our eyes - simply an amazing team!
