Reviews for Cameron House on Loch Lomond

41st wedding anniversary

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 7 hours ago

We booked Cameron House for 2 nights to celebrate our 41st wedding anniversary. On our arrival a wedding party was blocking the entrance stairs, making it impossible to enter. A staff member directed us to a side entrance via stairs to the reception. At this time I was told more than once to move my car promptly, which I found unhelpful. When making the booking we received a room upgrade due to an error on their part. On checking in I had to prove this upgrade by showing the receptionist the confirmation email. Clearly poor communication. No offer with our luggage to our room and I had to find a member of staff to help us. We ate at La Vista on the first night. The staff were very polite and pleasant but the glass of wine my wife was given was dirty with red lipstick. An apology and a fresh glass but nothing more than that. Slow service with only having received a starter after an hour. Food quality was average. The following night we had dinner at the Cameron Grill, which was much better in quality and service, especially Brendan, who is a credit to the hotel. On checking out there was no offer of help with our luggage despite plenty of front door staff. The hotel made no obvious effort to recognise our wedding anniversary despite being notified at the time of the booking. It was only individual staff members who were generous in recognition of the reason for our stay. The hotel is in a beautiful setting and the great weather was a bonus, however it needs more attention to detail and genuinely value guests to make it a 5 star resort.

Perfect Day

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Cameron House Hotel and Spa! As local leisure and spa members, my husband and I treated ourselves to deep muscle massages with Kimberly and Aimee in the Wee Spa, and they were incredible—truly the best massages we’ve ever had locally. The spa team here is very talented and attentive. We’re also thrilled to see Graeme Cheevers back with his stunning new restaurant, Loma—an absolute must-visit for fine dining fans. The hotel’s beautiful decor, breathtaking views of Loch Lomond, and immaculate grounds never cease to impress us. We can’t wait for the Carrick to reopen, adding even more to an already perfect escape. Thank you to the entire team for always making our visits special!

Superb staff at Cameron house

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

The best staff you could wish for. So freindly and so welcoming. Looked after us and welcomed our little dog. Superb breakfast 👌 stunning rooms, stunning views. The staff become freinds when you are there at Cameron house. Had a super 5 day stay. Visited many places including Arran for the day. Was a bit noisy one evening as a wedding was taking place so kept us awake until the early hours, due to guests that kept knocking on other guests doors. This was remedied by moving us to a quieter room. The staff took care of this. We will definitely return again one day. Thanks to all for making our stay unforgettable 💕

A lovely, relaxing one night break with dinner and breakfast.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our one night stay with dinner, bed and breakfast. We arrived around mid afternoon and were warmly welcomed at reception, with a friendly and informative introduction to the hotel. We loved our quiet and tastefully decorated loch view room, which was so calm and comfy we managed a two hour sleep before dinner! We enjoyed a cocktail in the beautifully decorated lounge, and enjoyed perusing all the memorabilia on display. Our lovely servers at dinner, Jamie and Freya, were attentive and helpful without being intrusive. I was offered the wine to taste. It’s a bugbear of mine that servers almost always ask the man so that was a huge plus 😁. My husband had the scallops to start and I had the goats cheese mousse. Both were beautifully presented (the goats’ cheese mousse almost too pretty to eat) and both were delicious! We both steak, sirloin and fillet, which were excellent quality and cooked perfectly, with a selection of lovely sides. My husband had the baked alaska type dessert which he said was delicious. I couldn’t have eater another thing but it did look lovely! We both had an excellent sleep with absolutely no disruptions. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast of fresh fruit and yogurt followed by smoked haddock and poached eggs, again cooked beautifully. We particularly liked that there was a wide selection of breakfast items and specialist coffees available to order, and included in the bed and breakfast rate. The champagne and Bloody Mary trolley was a lovely luxurious touch!

Outstanding food and service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Had an excellent visit for dinner at Cameron House on Friday evening. The food we had was excellent with the staff throughout the hotel and restaurant attentive and knowledgable. The service was top notch and nothing was a problem for the members of staff that dealt with us. Will definitely be back.
