About the Hotel
Hotel Magdalena is a hotel project from Austin’s acclaimed Bunkhouse in collaboration with renowned architecture firm Lake | Flato, located on Music Lane in the popular South Congress neighborhood of Austin. At 89 rooms, it is Bunkhouse’s largest hotel to date, and features four new, but distinct, buildings connected by exposed elevated walkways and courtyards, creating a treehouse feel inside the grounds. The property sits at varying elevations, an homage to the slopes of Barton Springs, and the lush grounds are planted with native Texas species including Bigtooth Maples, Redbuds, Meyer Lemon Trees, Yaupon Holly, and Little Gem Magnolia.

A haven!
It's a very beautiful location with gorgeous trees, a relaxing pool and peaceful yet artful decor. Ordering room service from summer house was a fabulous choice. Taking a night swim and a morning swim was a perfect self-care moment for my pregnant body. And the smells of santal all over were grounding and euphoric.

Not a good stay
We have stayed at this hotel over 10 times, this time we got two rooms, both rooms missing towels, no bathtubs, one room the AC not working had to request a fan, other room smell bad and had to moved to a different room which sink was not working . This was completely off point and unlike any previous stay.

Best of the best!
Hotel Magdalena stood out to me the most when looking for a night to stay in Austin. The photos do not do it justice. We were able to get one of the suites and it exceeded our expectations. We got there a little early before our true check in time and the front of desk was so kind and let us enjoy our room a bit earlier. From the valet, to the bar outside, to the room, room service and all the amenities it all made for an incredible stay!

Laid back luxury spot
We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Magdalena in Austin. Nestled just off South Congress Avenue, the hotel offers a quiet retreat from the hustle outside. The staff were exceptionally friendly, attentive, and seemed to go out of their way to provide 'service' which made for very positive experience. I also had a chance to grab a bite at Summer House and the food and service were both excellent. If you have time, the pool area and 2nd bar offer a perfect spot to relax too. I would definently stay here again.

Wonderful staff
Yesssss to Hotel Magdalena!-beyond the epic location and cool style of the place in general, would truly say the staff is what actually makes this place special. Ivy, in particular, what a delight. So kind, accommodating, overall good vibes. Thanks Ivy 🙏💜
