About the Hotel
Hotel Magdalena is a hotel project from Austin’s acclaimed Bunkhouse in collaboration with renowned architecture firm Lake | Flato, located on Music Lane in the popular South Congress neighborhood of Austin. At 89 rooms, it is Bunkhouse’s largest hotel to date, and features four new, but distinct, buildings connected by exposed elevated walkways and courtyards, creating a treehouse feel inside the grounds. The property sits at varying elevations, an homage to the slopes of Barton Springs, and the lush grounds are planted with native Texas species including Bigtooth Maples, Redbuds, Meyer Lemon Trees, Yaupon Holly, and Little Gem Magnolia.

Wonderful hotel
The pictures don’t do this hotel justice. Beautiful facility in the heart of a very cool neighborhood off of South Congress. Shops and lots do within walking distance. Just 8 mins to the heart of downtown. EXCELLENT place to stay. The rooms are clean and functional. A bit minimalist but a very cool vibe. Important for Austin heat, the AC works very well and keeps you cool. The pool is shaded and kept on the colder side which I love. Overall, the vibes here are excellent. And the staff so attentive and kind.

Lovely short staycation with easiest location
We made a last minute booking for our wedding anniversary. Really cool interiors and beautiful landscaping. Comfortable rooms with lovely details, although road can be a little noisy in the morning. Great location right on Congress so easy to walk everywhere.

Oasis on So. Co
Great location, you're right off the bustling, fun So. Congress activities but once you step into the grounds of Hotel Magdalena, it's like a little oasis with lots of trees, and neat walkways. Rooms are modern, no carpet, all concrete, but nicely appointed.

Hidden gem
What a gem. Hidden away but right in the heart of shopping and restaurants. My view was green and gorgeous thanks to all the trees. The room was very clean and spacious. The bathroom was awesome. Loved the screened in balcony. I will have to bring my dog next time. Everywhere was dog friendly.

A haven!
It's a very beautiful location with gorgeous trees, a relaxing pool and peaceful yet artful decor. Ordering room service from summer house was a fabulous choice. Taking a night swim and a morning swim was a perfect self-care moment for my pregnant body. And the smells of santal all over were grounding and euphoric.
