Surrounded by nothing but turquoise lagoon which melts into sapphire blue, the Maldives luxury resort island of Anantara Kihavah and its pure white sands rise up out of the ocean like a mirage. For centuries, this was where Arab traders sailing to the Far East took shelter; a lush paradise blessed by coconut, papaya and mango trees. Navigating archipelago to archipelago by the stars, the seafarers were also drawn by the riches of the ocean surrounding the island – where a prehistoric volcano sank back into the depths, leaving blooming corals within a house reef and a wealth of lagoon fish. Wishing to keep the pristine nature of the island intact, not one tree has been moved – as evidenced by the villas growing up around them. The design pays homage to the seafarers of old, fusing Indian Ocean, Arab and Portuguese motifs with indigenous materials. Located on the Baa Atoll in a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, Anantara Kihavah Maldives Villas invites you to imagine your own barefoot luxury paradise. Savour the luxury of space in your private pool beach villa or over water villa. Snorkel with mantas and Hawksbill sea turtles. Stargaze into the night. Dine on a deserted sandbank or beneath the ocean’s surface at this enchanting sanctuary

Our experience at Anantara Kihavah was absolutely wonderful. The resort's facilities are excellent, combining luxury with comfort in every detail. The natural beauty of the atoll is simply breathtaking. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our stay, Our Villa Host, Zidhan, was truly amazing. He went above and beyond to ensure we had a seamless and memorable stay. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend Anantara Kihavah to anyone looking for a luxurious escape in paradise.

Anantara Kihavah is the very definition of Maldivian perfection. From the moment we touched down by seaplane onto the island’s soft white sands, we were enveloped in tranquility, luxury, and warm island hospitality. Our villa was simply breathtaking—spacious, private, and designed with elegant island-inspired touches. The private pool, open-air bathroom, and direct access to the turquoise lagoon made it feel like our own secluded haven. Every sunrise and sunset felt like a personal spectacle, painted just for us. But the crown jewel of our stay was without a doubt SEA, the underwater restaurant. Dining here is a once-in-a-lifetime experience—surrounded by panoramic glass walls that offer a mesmerizing view of the vibrant marine life just inches away.

We had the most wonderful stay in easily one of the best resorts in The Maldives. It was a paradise on earth with the in-house reefs being so accessible on the island and an immaculate over water pool villa with the most lovely of sunsets, surrounded by a blanket of glistening stars and a myriad of fishes just by the deck! Victor, Mark, Chef Joakim and Chef Alex were very kind to us. Special mention to our villa host - Ismail for organising all the little gritty details for us, Aboo and Yusof who always attended to us when we are out eating at the restaurants. We felt extremely welcome by the chefs at Spice - Chef Ramadhan, Chef Noon, Chef Jithin and the Indian chefs who make sure we are always well taken care of and fed. One could feel how genuinely they care about the food and guests. Thank you for the hospitality and amazing experience!

World class everything!! Food, accommodations, views, service, amenities, activities. You literally CAN NOT go wrong! We stayed in the over-the-water villas and I did not want to leave the room at all! The only thing I WILL caution is that this is not a "for everyone" destination. Someone who cannot sit down and enjoy beauty will ruin this trip. Leave them home. This destination is worth EVERY penny but be careful who you share it with!
