Alila Ubud

Really lovely hotel about 20 minutes from Ubud centre. The staff were all genuinely friendly and offered great service. We ate dinner here on two of the nights that we stayed and the food was excellent. Breakfast is very nice with great choices. Our room had an outdoors bathtub which was very relaxing. There is a local troop of monkeys who come past looking for food. They are very nice to see and harmless if you don't intefere with them. The hotel pool is nice and the staff get you set up with a bed when you get there.

Alila is a wonderful hotel with wonderful staff. From the moment you get there the staff are so warm and lovely and try facilitate all your requests. We were given late checkout for free, even a photoshoot and vouchers everyday for our breakfast. The food is amazing and the entertainment was great. The rooms are comfy, and we were visited on our balcony by monkeys everyday (which we loved but understandly could be uncomfortable if you are afraid of them!) Would like to say a special thank you to Diah, Eva, Okta, Suarni & Dalem. The staff are some of the kindest staff we’ve ever met! Would definitely return and so sad to be leaving

We stayed here for 3 nights as our first stop in Bali. On arrival from the airport after a two hour drive we were greeted by friendly informative staff and a welcoming drink. Throughout our stay all the staff were attentive friendly and helpful. The highlight of our stay and possibly of our whole trip was the cycle ride we took with Numan (apologies if we have misspelt his name). Numan took us on a wonderful ride into the countryside stopping at rice fields, visiting Balinese villages and also to have the opportunity to visit local Balinese homes and have the chance to have coffee and speak with them A real insight into Balinese life and culture. In our opinion a must do if you stay here. Thanks to everyone at the hotel for a wonderful stay and would certainly recommend.

Me an my wife stayed in Alila Ubud for 12 night for our 30th anniversary. Words are not enough to describe the most beautiful people and setting of this resort. On arrival we were greeted with warm smiles and welcomed with some local drinks as we checked in. During our stay we booked the private dining which I had arranged with Marianti as a surprise for my wife for our anniversary.Given the short notice of my request, the manager and staff made one of the most memorable experiences of our stay in Bali and brought a tear to my wife as they led us to our dining experience. Our rooms nestled amongst the beautiful jungle and rainforest offered unspoilt scenery and wildlife. Any request was never too much trouble for the staff, always meeting us with a smile and kind words. The management team here are among the best I have ever encountered in my travels around the world. All the staff remember you by name and introduce themselves and take a genuine interest whilst also letting us get to know them. Nothing felt rushed, even when they were busy, they always took the time to ask how our sleep and stay was each day and if they could do anything more. In all Instances, they would provide things even before we asked, as they truly represent the meaning of 5 star service and customer relations. We honestly can't thank all the staff and management enough for making memories that we will cherish and look back on smiling and sad we had to go back home. The food offers both balanesse and western options again with restaraunts set within stunning scenery. The pool is clean and loungers set with towels ready for a day of relaxation. We want to use this feedback also as a way of saying a massive thank you 🙏 to all the staff and in particular Marianti,Suryah and all the staff and shefs and last but not least the management who run a heavenly resort whilst offering the best in class.

One has to manage their expectations when visiting the Alila Ubud. The rooms are small and old, there is no headboard, there is not sufficient space for 2 luggages, there is no privacy in the toilet as there is no proper door, there is no service magnifying mirror, the ceilings appear dirty or moldy, the cupboards are dark and small, the writing table dark and in the corner, there are no bedside tables, the flooring in the rooms is grey, the humidity is high, the air-conditioner in our room made noise all nigh etc. The stairs throughout the resort is neither elderly nor child friendly. It is certainly not an accessible resort. The gym is one of the worst I have seen. There is grey carpet, no lighting, it is small and the equipment is awful. It is depressing. There is no signature restaurant nor any air-conditioned restaurant. The European restaurant is more of a lounge by the poolside. The main Balinese restaurant restaurant is also the breakfast area. Monkeys visit whilst laying on the deck chairs and eating offerings even at the main restaurant. The property is old and thr facilities old. The property has the potential to be a luxury hotel but sadly is more of a 1 star, that given to the beautiful pool and the wonderful staff who try to compensate for the physical discrepancies. The poolside is definitely one of the better aspects of this resort. Also as it is so remote, 5 km from Ubud center, it was possible at the poolside lounge to get some work done. We checked out early as did our friends. Anywhere else is better.
