Conrad Bali

We had such a lovely stay at Conrad Bali! The resort is stunning — from the lush gardens to the expansive pools and beachside location. The staff were warm, attentive, and always happy to help, which made us feel really looked after, especially traveling with young children. Our room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, with thoughtful touches that made us feel at home. The breakfast buffet was a highlight — amazing variety and so fresh every day. We especially appreciated the kid-friendly areas and how accommodating the team was with our girls, who basically lived in the pool and sand. Even when the weather wasn’t perfect, there was still plenty to enjoy. We’d absolutely recommend Conrad Bali to anyone wanting a relaxing, family-oriented resort that still feels luxurious

This was our second trip to the Conrad and I had written a review the first time. Nothing has changed, it is still as warm and welcoming as the first time. The staff go above and beyond in everything they do. A special mention to Cecilia our curator who looked after our every want and need, Adelie in the Rin Restaurant who made sure we had our mango each morning and Kodek who made a special Ceviche for us and of course the Sous Chef from Suku who gave us a private lesson on making 3 different Ceviches. The coffees and breakfast in the Rin are really good which is important if like me you are a coffee snob. The daily visit from housekeeping kept us on our toes with various animals made from towels on our bed accompanied by cute messages. This was our 38th Wedding Anniversary trip and our room when we arrived had been decorated with balloons, two beautiful swan towels and a lovely message. Check out the photo below. They also had room service deliver a cake for us. We managed to get some really good needed sleep during our weeks stay due to the comfy bed and fluffy pillows. Although the hotel is old it has a lovely feel to it and the gardens around the hotel are beautiful and so well kept. We stayed in one of the Villas and it was relaxing to be able to sit outside in our own space and spend the time reading and dipping in the pool when needed. The only time we ventured out was to eat at one of the hotels restaurant or to do a quick bit of shopping. The hotel has a shuttle which runs to and from the shops but taxis are cheap when you want to come back early. The hotel runs a pick up and drop off to the airport for a fee. This needs to be booked before arrival for the pick up. I highly recommend it as Denpasar airport is not the place to try and get a taxi. We are already planning a trip to revisit next year and hopefully will be able to bring my sister and husband from the UK to experience this wonderful hotel and staff.

It is not possible to say enough good things about the Conrad Bali. My husband and I love Bali and keep returning to this Hotel. There are many good reasons why many guests return year after year for as long a stay as possible. The most compelling being the wonderful staff. Everyone goes above and beyond to make every guest feel welcome. It is such a pleasure to be greeted by name and a huge smile. For my husband’s 80th birthday during our stay in March, the Suku restaurant servers and chefs as well as Guest Relations and other staff made his day special by surprising him with a most delightful and unforgettable over-the-top celebration complete with cake, balloons, streamers, pictures and upbeat renditions of Happy Birthday. In fact well wishes continued throughout the day with no less than 4 groups displaying their singing talents (and more cake). During our time at the Hotel, we spent much of our evening time in the Executive Lounge where high tea starts at 3:00 followed by canapes and happy hour beverages from 5-7pm. We delighted in the team who work in the Lounge and who made us feel like family as we shared stories and information about Balinese culture, sights, traditions and their families. They are great group and provided us with many laughs as well. A huge thank you to the team for taking such good care of us! . In addition to the people, the Hotel property is spectacular with well-kept gardens and pools. Just wandering around the grounds and along the beach is a worthwhile exercise. The meandering pools are stunning and, unlike many resorts, there is an abundance of lounge chairs and cabanas. The Hotel has 3 main restaurants- Suku (buffet, very good breakfast), Rin (Japanese- highly recommend the bento boxes) and Eight Degrees South (fantastic beachside dining, seafood). Due to the Conrad’s location, there are a number of very good off-property restaurants within easy walking distance. The entire Management Team deserve special mention as they were perfect ‘hosts’, always friendly and willing to help. I would like to include the names of all the special people whom we have gotten to know during our visits to the Conrad but the list would be too long and I would hate to miss out on acknowledging any individual.

Is there such a thing as a perfect vacation? I don’t know; but our 12 days at the Conrad Bali cane pretty close to it! We celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary at the hotel. Before going I had informed the hotel of this occasion. And their reaction was nothing short of amazing. We received beautiful decorations of our room not once but on the day of arrival, the actual anniversary day and our day of departure. The staff kept surprising us with little goodies and we had received a wonderful upgrade to a huge suite. The upgrade was because of our Hilton diamond status. With that also we got access to the two lounges. One of them is only for adults and their snacks are inspired by the wonderful Japanese restaurant (RIN) located just next to it. We ate there at several occasions. Once we had hot stone dishes and the other time we went for the hot pot. Both were wonderful dinners! The other lounge is actually the main hotel lobby. If you have status / suite, you will be served afternoon tea between 3 - 5pm and canapes between 5 and 7. The selection changes everyday. We loved both but thought the afternoon tea was even better than the canapes. You also get free drinks at those times. This includes a selection of cocktails, wine, beers and other drinks. One of the highlights was the BBQ by the beach we had booked for one night. It was the most beautifully decorated dinner , right by the beach, with a huge buffet and live grilling. The food was great, the atmosphere amazing. For after dinner there was a bonfire with sitting sacks and marshmallows. The kids loved it; the parents too. It was the perfect night to enjoy as a family with no-one else at the beach. I can go on and on about the wonderful times we had and the amazing amenities and experiences we had on the island (my personal highlight was the snorkling day trip to Nusa Penida). But what really made this trip different from any other we have experienced before was the amazing staff! We felt so welcomed everywhere we went. After a couple days it felt that everyone knew us by name, always ready for a chat and always smiling. The kids left the hotel saying they have never been anywhere where the people were so friendly. While this seems to be a general thing in Bali, the Conrad manages to combine this general welcoming attitude of the Balinese people with a professionalism that we enjoyed to the fullest. We would love to thank not only Cecilia, who was a wonderful curator (making sure everything was going smoothly, advising on where to go / what to do, making every booking seemless and special) throughout the trip, but also all the other people who made this trip so special. We enjoyed especially every time we were at the lobby lounge for afternoon tea. It became a highlight of every day for our kids as they were always caught in funny, entertaining and even educational conversations with the staff. Our little one is so proud to have learned some Indonesian as well as Balinese. As we reached the airport making our way to immigration, our little one cried and cried, not wanting to leave the place he had learned to love and already considered home. He tried to convince us that we should stay for a month. So yes, if the perfect vacation is shaped by warmth and laughter in a beautiful tropical dream, then we have found it! Thank you for these many amazing memories that we will carry in our hearts for a long time to come.

Staff were amazing. From check in to house keeping to room service to restaurant staff. Free breakfast was great, especially the iced lattes! The breakfast staff at Rin were very attentive, especially the lady who stood outside. All the pools were great. Location excellent. Walked up and down the main road and found excellent restaurants and places for messages. Highly recommend
