Fairmont Beijing

Absolutely loved my stay at Fairmont Beijing! It was a complete placer staying here. Booked a Fairmont Gold Room and was upgraded as an All Accor Plus Gold Member. The room was huge with a lovely massage chair in it! Fairmont Gold Team was amazing especially Jackson and Beata who were always ready to greet you with a genuine smile and kindness. Location fantastic just a block away from Metro Line 1. Will definitely come back when in Beijing. Loved it!

I enjoyed a 2-day stay at Fairmont Beijing as the start of a longer business trip to China. I have stayed there twice before - both great experiences - but this time was even better. I had a large and very comfortable suite on the 23rd floor. They do not offer the newest or most modern hotel rooms in Beijing but they are very convenient, equipped with everything one could wish for - and housekeeping kept my room spotless during my whole stay. Much appreciated. One of the main reasons I like this hotel is their gym, which is large and very convenient. In addition to regular gym equipment, they also offer a nice yoga room. The service in their Fairmont Gold lounge on the 20th floor was exceptional - even better than last time. When I had colleagues over for a meeting, the lounge staff went out of their way to make sure everything went smooth. I would absolutely do this again - it was very convenient. My busiest day of meetings was the day I checked out and moved to another hotel booked by our Chinese partner. A big, big thank you to the Rooms Manager Journey, who facilitated my move in a truly exceptional manner. Outstanding service like this means I will come back to Fairmont Beijing also for the two last nights of my stay in China. Room for improvement? Not much this time - but as a non-meat eater the food in the Fairmont Gold lounge felt more meat-heavy this time than during my previous stays. I seem to remember some fish both for breakfast and evening canapees last time I stayed - but this time, there was mostly pork and duck on the menu. On the other hand, the omelette for breakfast (which I was not entirely happy with last time) was cooked to perfection this time :-)

Our stay at Fairmont Beijing was defined by exceptional service, from the warm welcome to the attentive door and reception staff, the hospitality was top-notch. The room was large, spacious, and well-equipped, with spectacular daily housekeeping that made our stay extra comfortable. The gym was well-equipped for both strength and cardio workouts, and the hotel also had a nice pool. Location-wise, it was convenient, just a five-minute walk to the metro, making it easy to explore the city. Breakfast, while decent, was a little underwhelming compared to other Fairmont properties. However, dinner at the hotel restaurant was of high quality and reasonably priced, which was a pleasant surprise. The biggest drawback was the lack of atmosphere. The hotel felt too quiet and didn’t have much charm, especially in the evenings. Additionally, for ALL members, the welcome drink selection was limited to tea and coffee, which fell short of expectations compared to other Accor Luxury properties. If the hotel offered more value for ALL members and the bar had more of a lively vibe, this would truly be an exceptional hotel.

The king-size bed in the hotel room was huge, occupying a spacious 45 square meters, and extremely comfortable. During my second stay, I booked a suite which came with a cozy open-plan living room. Moreover, it offered a stunning view. I will definitely stay here again next time.

I made a prepaid package reservation with Expedia including flights from the UK, staying in a Gold Lounge access King Room, for 7 nights. I contacted the hotel to arrange an airport transfer and early check in which was no problem. Today, without any prior warning, the Fairmont Beijing has emailed me to say they are cancelling my booking because they have another function booked. No alternative options given. They have completely destroyed my package booking and I have had to cancel my original flights as well. No offer of compensation, no offer to book me into a hotel within the Accor group as a courtesy. Just cancelled without any customer care. I would strongly recommend that you DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL. They may cancel your booking without warning, and they will not help, support or advise you in any way. I would recommend better, more reliable 5 star hotels on the area such as The Four Seasons. Having spoken to them today about my experience with the Fairmont they have been truly helpful.
