Beautiful Setting, Courteous Staff—but in Urgent Need of Renovation
The hotel has a truly beautiful setting. The rooms are spacious, the staff are friendly and professional, and there’s a certain charm to the place. However, it’s also clear that the hotel is quite old and hasn’t seen proper renovation in a long time—which unfortunately impacted our stay. On our first night, we had a water leak in our room due to old plumbing. While the maintenance team did respond and fixed the issue well, it took nearly an hour of waiting before we could shower and head to dinner. The following morning, we had no hot water in the shower. This time it took over an hour for maintenance to arrive, and they left the bathroom messy after the repair—another delay to our plans. To add to this, housekeeping did not replace our water bottles, even though we were informed at check-in that bottled water would be replenished both morning and evening. Despite requests, this was overlooked. To his credit, Mr. Vincent, the hotel manager, was very kind and relocated us to another room later in the day. We appreciated his help, although this process also took 30–40 minutes. Overall, this is a hotel with great potential. The staff are doing their best with what they have, and their service is commendable. But the hotel group clearly needs to invest in updating the infrastructure to ensure the guest experience matches the beauty and promise of the setting.

Good Atmosphere
The room was spotless, spacious, and well-appointed with modern amenities. Overall, this hotel delivered a memorable experience with top-notch service, delicious dining, and comfortable accommodations. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and well-catered stay.

Good service and good food. Peaceful atmosphere. Restaurant and food was delicious. Welcome was great and service provided at spa was also ok. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. We would like to return soon and would recommend the hotel to friends

So Sofitel Spa
Our family and friends of ten stayed at the villas incorporated in the So Sofitel grounds. We were unable to book any of the restaurants while we were staying there. For my sister's birthday gift, I booked a spa facial and massage (1 1/2 hours) for the two of us at great cost. The massage started half an hour late and was not the Asian fusion we had requested. The treatment finished 20 minutes early and we were not offered a drink or somewhere to sit afterwards. The facility is lovely and clean however the experience was very disappointing for us. Several others from our group also booked treatments and had very mixed results. Not something I would recommend given the high cost.
