Roosevelt was the highlight of the stay When we arrived. We were met by the valet person only after a Mercedes who pulled up after us was met and unloaded. We happened to be driving a rental Nissan rogue. Our vanity sink would not drain Our shower wand hose was broke. I fixed it myself. The beds were nice. But for 900 per night I expected a lot more. This was the nicest motel 6 I have ever stayed in. But I don't think Tom Bodet has anything to worry about. Roosevelt the bell man was wonderful and very nice. Props to him. The rest. Average is all I can say. I felt like a third class citizen. We drove up in a rental car despite owning several high end luxury cars. You cannot judge a book by its cover. I felt that we were. I won't be staying there again. We love the Fairmont hotels. You guys are not even close to that. Thank you and make sure Roosevelt knows I wrote this. I explained it all to him. Jerry Domeier

Sam was the Best! He was so accommodating and kind. He knew what he was talking about.. This is a great place to stay. Close to everyone and the downtown market was close. Beautiful place to stay. I will get back and will tell others of my great experience

Sam Hazeltine was professional and very friendly. He took the time to help us with questions that we had. He was very gracious and kind to everyone in our party.. he was a big reason that part of our trip was so wonderful. It was so refreshing to speak with someone who was so kind to everyone.

Beautiful hotel right in the middle of the action-walkable to everything. It rained the first two days we were there so made use of the hotel’s loaner umbrellas. Staff were gracious, well informed and very eager to please. The first room we were given was a double double room overlooking the internal courtyard rooftop-went right back downstairs to find something else. The next room was a spacious beautifully decorated king and included an empty fridge. Not so great: the room is very close to the elevator lobby on a busy floor with the spa and Club Lounge so we heard people chatting while walking by and waiting for the elevator. The Nespresso machine went berserk and kept filling up 3 cups until it ran out of water so a new machine was delivered asap. The hairdryer sounded like a gas powered leaf blower-used it only once. There is construction going on down the hall and the noise went on from morning until 8pm. One night the water needed to be shut off. The hotel manager gave us a dining credit for the inconvenience. Parking is sky high at the valet. We dropped off luggage and self-parked in the same adjacent garage the hotel uses for half the price. Lots of people do this we were told. The Thoroughbred Lounge bar has a good piano player at night. We tried the hamburger which was very good. Skip the potato croquettes-bland globs of mashed potatoes rolled in breadcrumbs.

Elegant yet friendly vibe, with the best 5-star touches in the city! Highly recommend the Club level experience. It's the closest to All-Inclusive you can get, but don't miss Thoroughbred Lounge for a classic evening or two! The location on King Street is ideal, and an easy walk to the Markets and to catch a horse-drawn carriage ride or see Rainbow Row and all the rest. I will recommend this jewel to friends and clients from now on!

I traveled with my family (husband, and two children ages 2 and 4) on a Luxury Link auction package to Charleston Place in August. True good service is making travel effortless for the visitor, and Charleston Place delivered. There was no problem in bringing our children. We arrived about an hour before official check-in, but our room was ready and keys were given. Concierge had pre-printed directions to many of the sites. Finally, our Luxury Link credits for spa and dinner was automatically applied at check-out, so the check-out sheet that I received the morning of departure already had the correct amount that needed to be charged. Effortless! The Club floor included an expanded continental buffet breakfast, as well as drinks and finger foods throughout most of the day. This was very convenient and the breakfast and evening hors d'oeuvres were particularly extensive. What makes Charleston Place stand out from myriad other places to stay in Charleston - many more historic or quaint or intimate - is the amenities offered. The pool with surrounding deck and kiddie pool is a very pleasant spot. The spa treatments were wonderful and very professional. Dinner at Charleston Grill was our favorite meal of the trip. The flavors were complex and fresh - this is not your typical fried and heavy Southern cuisine. I can see Charleston Place appealing to business travelers, couples needing pampering, families with older children, and yes, families with young children. All in all, a service-oriented hotel in a wonderful location with superior amenities and appealing to many different types of travelers.
