Nira Caledonia

We absolutely loved our spacious and beautiful jacuzzi suite. The room was spotless, with fridge and coffee/tea. Staff was helpful and accommodating. We were in building 10 (2 doors down from reception) and it was very quiet. Beautiful residential neighborhood and maybe a 12-15 minute walk to Waverly Station and tourist area. Breakfast was excellent.

This Georgian style small hotel is full of both character and comfort. Outstanding service and a wonderful restaurant serving both best in class breakfast and dinner, very helpful staff and much appreciated taxi service to and from the airport. The only consideration might be the many stairs and lack of elevator/lift for those with troubling legs or knees. For us though, this was extra leg training :-)

I loooved this hotel so much. I got a room upgrade which I appreciated a lot. The suite I stayed in was gorgeous. The breakfast was delicious. Also staff was very friendly and supportive.

Easy check-in, kind staff, cozy room (three flights of stairs up) and excellent restaurant. Well-located hotel in a clean and quiet neighborhood, close walk to Stockbridge and also walkable to Old Town/Royal Mile, etc. Stayed in wee single which was small but perfect for solo travelers (room and bathroom were efficiently laid out and designed).

We had a recent family trip to Scotland to visit our ancestral homeland. The trip included a 2 night stay at the Nira Caledonia. We were very impressed. In their website, they mention having down pillows as a perk. Before we booked, I wrote an email to them asking if they also had non-down pillows as my wife is alergic to down. I received a very nice reply within 24 hours stating that they do, indeed, offer non-down pillows and would ensure that we were given them. Once I booked the hotel, I received another email stating that they had our reservation and would ensure the correct pillows were used. The one concern is that this hotel is strictly a 4 storey walkup. Having said that, the staff were very accommodating and took our luggage upstairs to our room and then brought it back down on departure. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. There was no noise to speak of and the restaurant served very nice meals and a full cooked breakfast in the morning as part of our package. We would definitely recommend this hotel!
