Hotel Metropole Geneva

Currently in the middle of a major reconstruction, no lobby during renovation, converted a meeting room into an interim lounge with water & coffee but no service, rooms without a view due to scaffolding, no curtains in the room, construction workers can look unprotected into the room; waited for my room until 17:00. Eventually received a cocktail voucher for the Rooftop Bar from a friendly and committed young colleague at the reception. Young guy managing the entrance to the rooftop bar then messed it up again, arrogant attitude, then needed to go back and forth to check available seats in the bar, which appeared to be a bit more than half full. Drink was ok. Nuts were offered in an open bowl. Other hotels do this more hygienic. Was reminded of my experience in the rooftop bar from the late afternoon when I came back after dinner and loud basses were heard until late night. Would give them another chance after they finish their renovation but currently wouldn’t recommend staying there.

We paused in Geneva for a couple of days on our way to Meribel, just to take the edge off the jet-lag. In deciding where to stay, it really wasn't clear which side of the lake would be best for us, and we ended up thinking that whichever side we chose, we'd be spending plenty of time on the other side anyway. And that's exactly what happened. The Metropole is a great location opposite a park and close to the old town. Plenty of cafes nearby. Most surprising aspect was the road noise -- there wasn't any.

J’ai passé un séjour merveilleux à l’hôtel Métropole. Comme premier interlocuteur, j’ai eu M Mathieu Morel . En effet j’avais eu un très léger « problème « lors de mon dernier séjour et M Morel a fait un geste que je n’oublierai jamais afin de ne pas me laisser une « mauvaise «  impression . Je suis finalement restée 4 jours et je dois dire que je me suis sentie comme à la maison. Le staff de l’hôtel était vraiment adorable, professionnel et avenant. Je voudrais remercier outre M Morel , à la réception, Julie, Alyson , Marie et Faustine et pour les voituriers Marc Maxime et Fehat. Je ne peux que recommander cet établissement et je me réjouis de pouvoir y retourner. Merci encore pour votre gentillesse et votre accueil. À très bientôt j’espère Christine

c'est la deuxième fois que je prends un verre sur le rooftop du métropole. Non seulement le coktail à la fraise n'avait aucun goût, le morito n'était pas sucré et pour comble, les serveurs ricanent sur les clients !!! Le personnel est prétentieux et immature. Je n'y retournerai plus !!!!!!

This one gentlemen, our maitre d, server (Gabriel Vaugnoux) was above and beyond…, the quality of service was outstanding, immaculate, his manners were supreme as if he was greeting a king, Give this man some recognition, he’s a gift! Gil M
