Thompson Houston

I booked this hotel for a weekend getaway and I had extremely high hopes. Especially with this being a newer hotel and the Hyatt brand has always been my first choice. Upon arriving, we noticed that the valet price for oversized vehicles was more expensive, of course. Then when entering the building, the guy at the first desk was no help. Didn’t speak or anything. Went to the lobby and the young lady was extremely nice and very professional. I do regret not remembering her name. After checking in, we inspected our room and were unhappy with the cleanliness of the room. We called guest services and we were moved immediately, which is great customer service. The second room was clean but there was a fly smashed on the wall in the bathroom. I intentionally checked to see if it was still there after the room was cleaned the next day and guess what, the bug was still on the wall. Which was disappointing. It literally was near the mirror, i’m not sure how that could have been missed. Now, on to the room. It just didn’t really give fancy as I thought it would unfortunately. The fridge was not big enough to store our water bottles. We had a view of the fitness center next door. There was nowhere to hang bath towels in the bathroom. It truly just wasn’t “functional”. Also, both of the rooms had wet spots on the headboard. No clue what happened there. I will say that the majority of the staff were very polite. The location was great. A big plus was the beautiful shower. I wish I had more positive things to say about it. Don’t get me wrong, it was nice for the aesthetics, but I don’t think I would visit again.

Wow...Wow...Wow!!! If there was ever a hotel that delivered on the Wow factor...the Thompson Hotel Houston did it. From check in to check out my wife and I were completely satisfied. The service was impeccable! We loved the aroma, the opulence, the always smiling faces, the floor mats in the elevators...everything was exceptional. My personal favorite were the bathroom amenities from D.S & Durga...not to mention I am 6'8" so taking a shower in a large bathroom was so satisfying. My wife literally said to me..."from now on its the Thompson...nothing else!" Thank you to the Managing Director Ted and the entire team for a most memorable experience! Stephen Leon

The Thompson hotel was great and met my expectations. Centrally located and the shuttle service was definitely a plus. I had the pleasure of being driven by Cedric and he was outstanding. Though pricey, I think it was good value for money. Would recommend 10/10

Sol7 Restaurant was absolutely amazing! The views were stunning, and the food was delicious. We tried the lump crab cake, the steak frites, and for dessert, the ice cream sandwich and black forest cake — both recommended by our awesome server, Jennie. Everything was spot on. Overall, a fantastic experience! Highly recommend!

The room was beautiful room, clean with a comfortable bed. The pool with the Downtown Houston Skyline in breathtaking. The restaurant was excellent with good food and great cocktails. Housekeeping service was on time and with care to details.
