Soak up the jungle chorus while you float in the pool, stroll gardens bejewelled with orchids and sip caipirinhas as the sun goes down. We absolutely love this place!!! Staying at the Belmond Hotel das Cataratas was a truly unforgettable experience. Nestled within Brazil’s Iguassu National Park, it’s the only hotel located inside the park, granting guests exclusive access to the falls during early mornings and evenings when the park is closed to the public. This unique privilege allows for serene, crowd-free moments at the falls, enhancing the overall experience - except the odd ones who love taking their pics forever. The hotel’s colonial-style architecture exudes old-world charm, complemented by beautifully maintained grounds and a large swimming pool. Rooms are elegantly furnished, blending classic decor with modern comforts, and many offer views of the lush surroundings. There are good facilities around such as the pool and tennis Our room had a balcony that overlooks the waterfall. This is so unique and made our stay forever memorable. The hotel provides small gestures like free chocolates as we arrived during Easter. They gave free Havianas flip flops. The concierge team who helped to arrange trips for us is really good and responsive. Ipe restaurant food was delicious. The breakfast had great choices. Love the croissant and tapioca pancake with dulce de leche, banana and curd cheese. The lunch especially the polpetone with taglioni was delicious. When it gets busy however, don’t expect the quick turnaround but we should be on holiday chillax vibe. For those seeking a distinctive and immersive experience at Iguassu Falls, the Belmond Hotel das Cataratas stands out as a premier choice with price point was reasonable. We would go back again and we can see that we can relax and enjoy the unique experience there. It is a special place.

Our stay at Das Cataratas was truly magical. The location is simply unbeatable — just steps from the falls trail, with exclusive access after park hours, allowing for a serene and unforgettable viewing experience. The concierge team took exceptional care of us, crafting a perfect itinerary, arranging incredible excursions, and connecting us with the best guides to make every moment memorable. The food and facilities were outstanding, adding even more to the overall experience. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect stay.

It was an amazing experience, the service, food, quality was exactly what you can expect. We can highly recommend the early tour with no tourists in the park. And no matter what’s the like, you get wet anyways if you want to get close to the falls

This gorgeous hotel is undoubtedly expensive but the situation in the heart of the National Park, right by the Iguacu Falls is unbeatable. When the crowds have all gone home you can stroll beside the falls, watching the sun go down. And if you want, be up early to see the morning mists clear over the Devil's Throat, before the park opens. Fabulous food, pool, gardens, and charming service.

We stayed at Hotel Cataratas at the end of our 17 days in Brazil. A perfect ending. Our room was charming and comfortable, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel neglected to make arrangements for our transport from the airport (which was included in our LL package), but they made up for the error many times over during our stay, including a complementary guide when we visited the Iguassu Falls on the Argentina side. The location of the hotel also provides access to the viewing trails for the falls during hours when the park is closed to other tourist. A real bonus that is not available to those staying in the hotel in the Argentinian park. Next time I stay at Hotel Cataratas I'll coordinate my trip with a full moon!
