Strawberry Hill gleaned its name from the favorite crop of its original owner, who was given the estate by the British Royal Family in 1780. Generations of prominent families added to its legacy, welcoming high society and rock 'n' roll royalty to its peaceful grounds. Jamaican architect Ann Hodges turned Strawberry Hill into what it is today, a collection of white wood-framed cottages and villas, each with a distinctive style that preserves its history and reflects the culture of local artisans.

Gorgeous clean rooms, spectacular views, friendly staff, tasty food & drink - what more could you ask for! Our stay at Strawberry Hill may have been just off-season, as we felt we almost had the place to ourselves. Book a couple of nights for a treat, you won't regret it.

Strawberry Hill has a spectacular setting and great charm that is ruined by the many, many daytrippers who crowd the restaurant and bar, monopolize the pool loungers, wander into private spaces of the cottages, and pose for Instagram everywhere. What should be a peaceful idyll feels like a social media circus. The hotel needs to decide if it still cares about overnight guests. Otherwise, it should be converted into a day club. Perhaps that’s what the new owners will do, since Chris Blackwell is selling the hotel.

The views and the nature (including the humming birds) at the hotel were great but the management of the hotel is poor. The Wi-Fi at the hotel was very poor especially away from the bar area, and it was unusable in my hotel room. I went on the Blue Mountain hike offered by the hotel and no food was provided as advertised during this 12 hour round-trip. I specifically asked if food would be provided on the hike when I booked this at the hotel reception because I was disappointed that I wasn’t having the included breakfast in the morning due to the early hike start time. In fact, very little information was conveyed about this hike. Due to this error by the hotel I did not have any food for 12 hours. To add to this, I was not provided with a waterproof poncho like usual as Lyndon, the usual guide, was not working on this particular hike. Due to these two issues I expected a significant refund by the hotel. Unfortunately, I was only refunded $15 for the price of the food which I refute since the cost of food / drink from the hotel was much more. I expect a more professional and robust response due to the nature of my complaint. I asked for the contact details of the manager of the hotel and I have sent two emails re this complain and I have not received any reply. Very disappointing. I will not be going back again.

Yes you do have to make a reservation via WhatsApp to even be let into the gate $20 per person will get you entry which can be traded for a drink. However if you eat a meal there, the $20 will go towards your meal as credit. Delish local options and ranging from $12-15 for a salad and $20 for main course: again, mostly for the views and ambiance I would suggest if you’re in the area and heading up to the coffee farms: go visit coffee first and then visit on your way down
