The timeless alleyways of the Old City, the Western Wall and Tower of David, the bustling Machne Yehuda market, the Mamilla Avenue and an abundance of New City attractions are all within easy walking distance from this landmark hotel in Jerusalem. Originally designed by Moshe Safdie, winner of the AIA Gold Medal, the David Citadel's well-planned public spaces and 385 luxuriously appointed rooms and suites have recently received a facelift by renowned Italian designer Piero Lissoni who introduced the warm atmosphere of Jerusalem through natural lighting, traditional colors and rich artworks painted by David Roberts during his 1834 Grand Tour. Lissoni's vision included oak parquet flooring, abundant greenery, soft lights and textured fabrics in a palette of rich colors that welcome guests today.

Amazing experience. SAID from breakfast was great! Overall experience was very nice. Made us feel very comfortable and food was very good. The city is obviously a special and holy place and the location of the hotel is great with beautiful walking options.

We’ve been coming to this hotel for the last 25 consecutive years. The location is fabulous. The suites are wonderful. The food is terrific. But mostly we appreciate the staff. Munir, the manager is always friendly, accommodating, and helpful. The dining area staff — Abid in particular are always gracious.. Our waiter Sa’id ,who has served us for more than 20 years ,is the best waiter I’ve ever had in my life. The housekeeping staff is astonishing. I can go on, but have to get to the spectacular poolside. Alan and Brenda Rubin

We are staying at the David Citadel for 2 days. We’ve stayed at many hotels in Jerusalem on previous visits and wanted to try this. It is rated at 5 stars. We found it extremely disappointing. The hotel dirty—floors and carpets in the room are filthy. If you like to sleep in a cold room (we do and had 2 rooms)—the air conditioning is terrible—dated, doesn’t work and service calls went unanswered. This is not a 5 star hotel (Four Seasons like)—far, far from it. It’s dated and simply bad. Stay somewhere else.

Great service at the citadel hotel! Especially the breakfast service with Said and Abed! Said remembers you from the first day and brings you whatever you need. Very friendly and helpful. We had a great stay and can’t wait to come back! Our favorite.

We always have great service when we come to the David Citadel hotel. The staff is extremely welcoming and hospitable. They are available to cater to all of our needs. At the breakfast service, Said is especially great. It is a pleasure staying at the David Citadel hotel. We can’t wait to come back.
