We have been lucky enough to stay in many Four Seasons properties around the world over the years. They are expensive however they have generally been beautiful locations providing exceptional service and small gestures of attentiveness which made the investment feel like it was more than worth it. Unfortunately, that formula isn’t present in Las Vegas. There are, of course, some positives. First, the rooms are well equipped, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Second, we had great service from the member of the team who helped us up to our room with our bags and spent time showing us our room, giving us some ideas of where to visit and getting us some extra water. Housekeeping staff and our waiter at breakfast were also friendly and helpful. The property itself is a disappointment. The location at the end of the strip is pretty bad with awful views and a fairly grim walk if you want to go and see the more lively parts of the strip. The concept is also flawed as the hotel is located on a few floors of the huge Mandalay Bay resort. When you sit outside in the small external area around the pool, you are surrounded by Mandalay Bay buildings and branding. At best, staying here feels like you are staying at what could be described as the executive floors of the Mandalay Bay. Front of house is awful and two areas really disappointed - reception and the team that greet you for breakfast. The reception team lack warmth and are clearly understaffed. Whilst we didn’t have to wait long to check in, the experience was perfunctory at best. Checking out was horrible. We were leaving around 0800 and had allowed time as we had a tight schedule. There was only one lady on reception and she was dealing with a problem for a customer. After waiting quite a while, I asked her politely if she could call someone else. I should not have had to ask, there was little apology and I felt like I was just an annoying piece of administration. She did call and eventually another man arrived. I explained we were now in a rush and his response was just to ask me how long I had waited and say he would mention my feedback to a manager. When he had logged in, there was then a problem with our bill because our breakfast that morning hadn’t been listed which was odd given we had room service that morning and had ordered it the night before to facilitate a quick departure. In the end, he gave me a credit on my bill which I didn’t want and didn’t ask for, making me feel like he was doing me a favour when in fact all I wanted was to pay what I owed and not wait any longer. The reason we had breakfast in our room the second morning is the restaurant breakfast experience is also poor mainly due to the team who greet you on arrival. There is no welcome at the desk, they print tickets with your name and stick them to a rather worn area of the counter where you then wait until someone comes to take you to the table. The young lady who eventually took us lacked any warmth and didn’t seem interested in answering questions about the buffet. We felt dumped at our seats and we have had certainly had better welcomes in budget cafes. There are two areas to eat, one very noisy and messy and one slightly better but a long way from the buffet. Our waiter was very helpful when we finally sat down but again this was not a Four Seasons experience. Concierge did help us before we arrived with a restaurant booking and they were very helpful. Oddly though, the concierge seems to be closed in the evening, even on a Saturday night when you might often want help. This just feels like a cost cutting exercise which isn’t consistent with expectations of the Four Seasons brand. Finally there are none of the small gestures that you get at other Four Seasons properties. No bedtime chocolates or other small amenities that we have always received before although there were two small cakes on arrival. They aren’t needed but you do kind of expect them with the Four Seasons brand. There were other small problems like a very squeaky door to our bathroom and an already used and opened carton of water next to our bed when we checked in. Finally, it all just felt totally impersonal. We have been loyal to the Four Seasons brand for decades and there was no recognition of that loyalty. Sadly we will not return and this has also made us question whether our loyalty is now misplaced.

I stay at this hotel primarily because it is smoke and vape free, including all of the common areas, and they enforce the policy. They do have one designated smoking place that is rather ill conceived as it sits under a ceiling so the area smells like an ashtray and one must walk by it on the way to the gym. Hopefully they will reconsider. But, the hotel is a super stay, exactly what one would expect from a FS. On this latest trip I want to highlight the pool staff ( so welcoming and helpful) as well as f and b poolside. I ordered a tuna roll and it was spectacular, the fish was cold and fresh, and it was served with plenty of wasabi, ginger and soy sauce- an exceptional snack, reasonably priced- Kudos to the chef and his/her team 🙏🏼 I do wish all hotels, including this one, that have adopted the “ resort fee” practice - in this case $55 per day- would be transparent about it and just increase the room rate so that guests can make an informed decision. Yes, I get dynamic pricing and psychology but the way it is done now is rather deceptive and IMHO the FS is better than that. Did not take away from another great stay but just be mindful.

I do love four seasons as our stays there across the country have been pretty consistent. We were happy to stay here after a long trip visiting national parks with some rustic lodging. I love that this hotel is off the strip and much quieter, and you’re not walking through smoky, crowded casinos to get to your room. And the service here is quite good. That being said, we were completely disappointed in the breakfast buffet. It’s exorbitantly priced, and although the selections are quite varied, most of the food was cold to lukewarm. Management made it right, but I expected better for a four seasons.

It's a Mandalay bay on higher floors at 4x the price and aside from that there really is no difference. Instead, book a large specialty suite at Mandalay Bay for the same rate. There isn't much to be desired here and nothing speaks "luxury". The staff are fine, the beds are terrible and the rooms are showing wear. I don't know why this hotel is in the Four Seasons portfolio.

Las Vegas isn’t exactly known for restraint. It’s loud. It’s lit. It’s slot machines and pool parties and Elvis in a bedazzled jumpsuit offering you tequila at 10am. But tucked inside the chaos, like a secret for those who know better, is the Four Seasons Las Vegas. And it’s everything. When Justin and I headed to Vegas for a Keynote Speech I was delivering at a Conference, I wanted to do Vegas, different... no kids, no noise, no neon overload... so this is where we went. And within seconds of checking in, I remembered exactly why I keep coming back (we almost always stay here). The Vibe: Elegant. Discreet. Elevated. You know you’re in Vegas, but no one’s shouting about it. The marble, the scent, the welcome glass of something sparkly — it’s the kind of arrival that whispers, you made a good decision. Okay, here’s the flex: There’s a secret elevator tucked into the main Mandalay Bay elevator bank. If you know, you know. It’ll whisk you directly to the Four Seasons like you’re VIP... because, well, you kind of are, and people wonder where you're going. You still have access to everything Mandalay Bay offers... the casino, the restaurants, the lazy river... but you get to retreat to your own world at Four Seasons. It’s the best of both: indulgence and calm. The Room: Spacious and sleek. We had an incredible view and a bed that makes you contemplate ghosting your entire real life just to stay another night. The Pool: Yes, Mandalay has its water park vibe. But Four Seasons has its own exclusive pool. No DJ. No wristbands. No kids doing cannonballs (as much as I love mine). Just peace, padded loungers, and someone checking if you want your drink refilled before you even realize it’s low. Pro Workcation Note: If you’re in Vegas for a conference, speaking gig, or even writing your next book (hi, F*ck Your Office Snacks), the FS Las Vegas is a power move. It’s where you stay when you want to show up fully present without the overstimulation of a slot machine orchestra every 20 feet. Would we stay again? Obviously. This is one of the few places in Vegas where you can leave the noise behind, without ever missing out.
