About the Hotel
The Rubens at the Palace is the closest you'll get to a sleepover with the Queen without a state visit invitation. The hotel is directly across from the royal residence on property that enjoys a colorful past – the Duke of Buckingham lived here in the 1600s, followed by an apothecary and a Court dressmaker. The Rubens, which was built in 1912, housed the Polish army during WWII and gave respite to exiled Charles de Gaulle. The hotel's decadent – and often equally colorful – rooms and suites are a comfortable home base in the epicenter of London.

A London hotel fit for a King !
W stayed at the Rubens as part of a National WW2 Museum tour and to attend the VE Day celebrations. EVERYTHING about our stay was first class and absolutely stellar. The room and the facilities were world class and fitting for the locale next to Buckingham Palace. The staff was top notch and by the end of our stay they treated us as friends and not just guests. The Rubens will always be our MUST STAY home away from home in London.

A GEM OF A HOTEL!! HIGHLY RECCOMEND
An absolute JEWEL of a hotel and my husband and I highly recommend The Ruben. This is the 2nd Red Carnation hotel we’ve stayed at and their hospitality is excellent. The Ruben is centrally located, right next door to Buckingham Palace and offers super comfortable luxury, a great bar and dining but truly the most wonderful aspect about this hotel is the staff…from the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty and everyone was so friendly and helpful. We got to know Joe and Charlie at the front desk, Elliot in the bar, Carlotta in the dining room, Jan at the front door and Andy at the concierge desk and they couldn’t have been more terrific; and they’re just the ones we got to know by name! And when we would come back to the hotel after a day of sightseeing everyone greeted us with “welcome home”. Truly a special, special place… thank you to The Ruben for making our 6 night vacation fun and memorable!!! DEFINITELY CHOOSE THIS HOTEL FOR YOUR TRIP TO LONDON!

Incredible Service, Comfortable Rooms
The highlight of our stay was the excellent service. Every day our room was refreshed by the most thorough housekeepers, AND again at turn-down service! It was such a relaxing place to return to after long days touring. The room was also very comfortable: bed, pillows, robes, bathroom. All excellent. We stayed at 4 hotels on this trip to Paris and the UK, and Rubens had the best air-conditioning of them by far. As an American Southerner, it was such a relief to have a cool room! The lobby staff were all so kind and helpful. The doorman greeted us warmly going and coming; always started our day with a smile.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, we felt spoiled and in the lap of luxury. Pasqual and JT in particular made our visit extra special. The location is superb, the room is luxurious and the service is divine. Would definitely return.

Truly Five Star; Jan is a standout.
Our stay was incredible. The bar cocktails are inventive, historical, and all of the bartenders kind and hospitable. However, the standout was Jan, the doorman. We had difficulty getting airport transportation due to the WWII parade, and we had an Uber stuck in traffic. Most would ask once and leave it since we were departing and no longer guests. Jan went above and beyond to ensure we were okay, then got us a cab. He always has a welcoming presence that reminds you why The Rubens is a five star hotel. Thank you to all.

I just returned from an amazing 6 nights at The Rubens. My trip was for business and at the last minute, I had to bring my baby along. This worried me greatly, but thanks to the wonderful staff of the hotel, my week went off without a hitch. The staff couldn't have been any kinder, more helpful, or professional. From the moment we arrived, special attention was paid to the baby and any assistance I needed. There is no doubt that I will be returning to this hotel. It has won a special place in my heart.

I can't say enough about the amazing service at the hotel. Everyone was so friendly and helpful whenever we had questions or needed help. The concierge was wonderful and went out of his way to come check on us and see how our day our was turning out. It made us feel very welcome and almost like family!
