We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel. It’s right on the beach, with amazing views and a peaceful atmosphere. The staff was friendly and always helpful, making us feel welcome from the start. The rooms were clean, elegant, and very comfortable. The food was fresh and delicious at every meal. We especially enjoyed the pool area, which has private kiosks you can rent for the day—perfect for relaxing. We used Nomad Tours CR for a couple of excursions and they were fantastic! Gabriel followed up with us to ensure our driver arrived on time and even checked in afterward to see how we enjoyed the adventure. Truly great service! We did the Full Wildlife Tour, where we saw sloths, toucans, and monkeys in the lush rainforest — it was an incredible experience! We also did the Rincón de la Vieja Volcano Hike, which is an absolutely amazing spot! Overall, I would highly recommend both El Mangroove Hotel and Nomad Tours for an unforgettable experience in Costa Rica.

Pablo, the concierge, was amazing! With 48 hours' notice, he assisted my wife and me with booking a catamaran tour, ATV excursion, ziplining event, and visit to a wildlife sanctuary! I would recommend this hotel; however, the food offerings could be improved.

This hotel was nice and the staff were exceptional. We felt like family! The food and drinks were good however we found the local restaurants to be better. The massages were very good but pricey compared to other places we have been. Overall a great last stop after an action packed vacation.

This was our first visit to Costa Rica, we traveled with our 14 yo daughter. The El Mangroove is exactly as pictured, with beautiful indoor/outdoor natural architecture, a serene pool overlooking a private beach, with a secondary tiered pool area for kids/families. Pablo the concierge was so welcoming and helpful. We emailed prior to arrival and met with him on site where he helped us choose a fun 1/2 day adventure. He also went to special effort to secure us a rental car. We really appreciated how knowledgeable Pablo was and we enjoyed top notch excursions with low effort on our part. Issac the bellman was also a standout, always greeting me by name. Our room was very comfortable with a lovely screened in outdoor area to enjoy the warm evenings and listen to nature, with a separate air conditioned sleeping area. This is the perfect quiet hotel for relaxation, with an upscale yet relaxed boutique experience.

Her attention to detail, kindness, and ability to anticipate our needs went far beyond what we expected, and she played a major role in making our trip unforgettable. Ana took the time to learn about what we were hoping to experience during our stay and made thoughtful suggestions that enhanced our time at the hotel. Whether it was arranging special touches, helping us feel at ease, or simply checking in with a genuine smile to ensure we had everything we needed, Ana was always one step ahead. Her dedication and passion for her work truly shone through in every interaction.
