Fairmont Mayakoba

We had an unforgettable stay at the Fairmont Mayakoba – our second time visiting, after a wonderful experience last year. The hotel is beautifully nestled in the jungle, surrounded by lush nature. The entire property is immaculately maintained and looks absolutely magical at night with its dreamy lighting. We stayed in a Casita, which was spacious, beautifully decorated, and spotlessly clean. The food was excellent throughout our stay, with a great variety of restaurants offering different cuisines and atmospheres. One small suggestion: it would be wonderful to see more vegetarian options, especially among the main courses. While the food was delicious and well-prepared, the variety for vegetarians was somewhat limited and could be improved to better accommodate vegetarian diets. We appreciated that some fantastic activities – like the ecotour, canal boat tour and catamaran tour – were already included in the all-inclusive package, which added great value to our stay. Our kids (ages 6 and 4) attended the Kids Club for about 2 hours daily and had a fantastic time with activities like pool games and a Mexican Fiesta. The staff there was amazing and made sure the little ones had fun and felt safe. A little downside: some Kids Club activities came with an additional fee (500 pesos, not included in the all inclusive package). While the quality was good, we felt the cost was rather high – and with two children, these charges add up quickly. That said, what truly sets this hotel apart is the exceptional staff. From one heartist to another, I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful people who made our stay so special. Every staff member we met was warm, professional, and genuinely kind. Special thanks to Erik, who guided us on a snorkeling tour – he was knowledgeable, approachable, and incredibly friendly, and made the experience truly memorable. Also to Joan, the attentive and charming waiter at Fuego, and Leslye, the caring supervisor at the Kids Club. The housekeeping staff also deserves recognition for their meticulous work and friendly greetings in the halls – they truly are the unsung heroes behind the scenes. Fairmont, your people are your greatest treasure. You can be incredibly proud of the team you have. We hope to return next year and relive this magical experience once again.

We had the best time celebrating our honeymoon at Fairmont Mayakoba! From the moment we arrived, the staff went out of their way to make us feel special—warm, welcoming, and incredibly accommodating throughout our stay. The Spa was a highlight—we ended up going back a few times because we loved the services and amenities so much. It’s the perfect place to unwind and feel pampered. Tauro was one of our favorite restaurants on property. Adan was an amazing server, and Alfonso, the bartender, not only made fantastic drinks but also shared the fascinating history of Mayakoba with us. Eric was another standout—he gifted us salt during one visit and later gave us great local tips, including spots to check out in Playa del Carmen. At La Laguna buffet, Diana day after day made us feel like we were the only table in the room and Adelaida was incredibly friendly and attentive as well - such a lovely way to start our mornings. We also had a great experience at Gaia—our server Hector was fantastic, and one of the young chefs came out to talk with us and got us genuinely excited about what we were eating. The concierge team was also top-notch. Elmer was especially helpful and super knowledgeable whenever we needed help planning out our days. We took a river boat tour during our stay, and it ended up being one of the most memorable parts of the trip. Oscar and Miguel gave us incredibly nice and relaxed experiences, and Mauricio Romero was just phenomenal all around, sharing about the local wildlife and amazing sustainability efforts. The La Cantina tequila tasting was another standout experience—Dorian led the tasting and was incredibly knowledgeable, making it a fun and educational experience. And over at Hix Bar, David was super friendly and introduced us to tequila cream, which we’d never had before. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better honeymoon. Fairmont Mayakoba is beautiful and serene, but it’s really the people who made it unforgettable. We can’t wait to come back!

We had an amazing time at Fairmont Mayakoba. We stayed at Heritage Place and had Daniel and Alejandro as our butlers and they were the best. The resort offers so much to do for families. The beach is great and you have access to the other resorts for food as well.

We had an amazing time. The property and staff are top notch. Friendly and attentive staff at each encounter. Food was phenomenal. This was our second time here and we’d come back again in a heartbeat. Special shoutout to Sergio and the whole staff.

The Make a Wish experience has been increíble. Our Wish kid has been amazed on every experience !! Ever since we came everything was prepares for him. The facilities and the activities in such a great dialogue with nature. It is a place to get the Wish and the peace you need. A piece of heaven on earth.
