Immerse yourself in the splendour of ancient Rome in a crescent-shaped palazzo fronting the Piazza della Repubblica. Anantara Palazzo Naiadi showcases a uniquely storied history, with 19th-century marble architecture and meeting rooms suspended over the ruins of the Baths of Diocletian. Our palatial hotel also boasts one of the most enviable locations in the city centre, with iconic sites such as the Fori Imperiali, Via Veneto, Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps all within walking distance. After a day of exploration, return to an evening of rooftop relaxation overlooking the Eternal City.

This was our 1st visit to Rome and as we had previously visited 3 other Anantara Hotels we choose the Palazzo Naiadi as we knew what to expect. 1st impressions wow amazing hotel & our room which was upgraded to a suite was equally wow. The hotel was also situated within walking distance of all the Rome sights so perfect for our trip. However the stay went downhill from there, the room was kept lovely & clean for us so no complaints there, it was the rest of the hotel & some of the staff that really let the hotel down. On our 2nd breakfast we were questioned as to why were were not using the buffet & then instructed that we had to go and use it. We personally prefer to order from the al-a-carte menu so we can get our food hot, so we stuck to our choice with a look of disdain. The 3rd breakfast as we had a flight to catch and with little time we did use the buffet, but everything was cold. We were questioned as to why we hadn't eaten the food and when we mentioned the food temperature, we were rudely told that's the way it is. Our major issue with the hotel was the Seen Restaurant and Bar. On our final day after 30k steps around Rome we went up to the restaurant to reserve a table for the evening. We were exhausted and just wanted to eat in the hotel & as a 5* hotel treat ourselves on our final night. We asked to reserve a table but were 1st told you better look at the menu to see if it was OK, almost insinuating that we could not afford the prices. When we mentioned that we were residents of the hotel the attitude completely changed and we were reserved a table. On arrival at the restaurant music was very loud almost impossible to talk to each other, it was more like an Ibiza club. We then ordered a burger each, (maybe not the best gastro choice but we wanted a less rich meal as we were travelling home the next day), what a mistake that was, it was the worst burger we have ever been served and for 33euro an absolute joke. We could not believe that such a dish could come out of a 5* kitchen, the chef should be ashamed of themselves. We ate the meal ordered some equally poor standard deserts and then left. The night got even worse from there, we got woken up by the bar music & kept awake till 2am with the base notes of the music booming though the walls. We were on the 3rd floor of the hotel the bar being on the 5th so you can imagine how loud the music was. We could not imagine that many of the hotels residents attend the bar as most of the cliental we could see where over 50 or families, so this bar is obviously for the Instagram hungry who want to show that they can visit such an exclusive hotel without paying the cost to stay. On check out we did mention the sleepless night which they could not believe as we were on the 3rd floor & gave us some complimentary toiletries for the inconvenience. Would we recommend no, unless you are a 20 something wanting to add some pictures to your profile.

Like other have commented before, this is a tale of two different hotels. The architecture is stunning, common areas are lovely, staff is unfailingly polite. However, once you get into the guest room, it's a different story. While the junior suite we had is nicely appointed and has a great view that overlooks the Diocletian Baths, the suite is very dated. Both the carpet in the bedroom and the bathroom floors are terribly stained. The fixtures look old. The hot water deficiency issue that people talk about is real! You have to let the water run for 10-15 minutes before it gets hot. We learned this the hard way. This is unacceptable in an 1400 Euros/night suite at such an upscale hotel. Buffet breakfast is great, the best we've had in Rome!

The hotel is very well located. Within walking distance of most attractions. Outstanding front desk personnel. Front Office Manager, Mirian, very accommodating and helpful. This hotel, service wise and accommodation wise, deserves more than 5 stars. Simply outstanding.

Great location and very helpful security guards who would call us a taxi promptly. We could walk to many famous sights from here. Rooms were nice and comfortable like you would expect at any 5 star hotel. Service was good. Everyone was helpful.
