The Ritz-Carlton is a lovely resort. We stayed for a night on our way back to the airport from St. John, and it was a delight. The food at Bleuwater was exquisite and the staff were very friendly. The views were amazing as well. My family and I will probably stay there again because it was such a wonderful experience. I will say that it was a bit expensive, and the pool area didn’t have much shade, but in my opinion, it was worth it!

Just spent a week at the RC St Thomas resort. We were a bit hesitant after reading the negative reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised and had a very enjoyable week. I think perhaps the negative reviews may be from people who stay in the residence side- which is called the RC club (these are privately owned residences that you can rent ) Check in was smooth and prompt. We arrived in a Redcar transfer from the airport which I booked through the hotel. Bruce welcomed us and immediately placed our luggage into a golf cart and transported us to the club lounge where we checked in . He then escorted us to our room and delivered our luggage. We stayed in a 1 bedroom ocean front executive suite. The room was spacious and recently renovated. Two full bathrooms and separate balconies with a beautiful view. The facilities are older but the grounds were beautiful and well kept. We did not see any trash or rodents as other reviews have mentioned. We did see Iguanas and resort cats .Never had a problem getting chairs at the pool or beach. The housekeeping service was great- our room was cleaned every day mid morning and refreshed each evening with turndown service. We always find that tipping the housekeepers daily is good practice. They made sure we had extra water and extra nespresso pods each day. We had one issue- no hot water when we went to take a shower. I called and they promptly sent someone to correct the problem. Staff in the club lounge was excellent. Lourdes made us delicious omelets to order and pancakes each morning. Bertha made sure we had whatever we needed. The food options were excellent- each evening for “hors d’oeuvres”. There were hot dishes- usually one meat and one seafood with a rice or potatoes dish and vegetables. You could make it your dinner if you wanted to do so- and we did a few evenings . Friday evening they had lobster tails in a delicious Caribbean sauce and lollipop lamb chops. There was always a salad bar with cheeses and other options like hummus, ceviche and shrimp cocktail. The dessert service was good but the selections were few and not very varied - dessert service at other RC club lounges is definitely better. They do have cookies, protein bars , chocolates and candies availabile to grab at any time. The gym was very nice and has everything you need to get a good workout- our son used it daily. Tennis courts are nice- but the turf surface isn’t the best. Getting a taxi was never a problem- they were always available at the lobby. We ate dinner at onsite restaurant Alloro our first night- food and service were good- ambiance was a bit noisy. Red Hook is nearby and there are many restaurants there. Fee from RC to Red hook is $8 per person one way. Checkout was just as smooth. The bellman arrived at the exact time I requested to pick up our luggage. When we arrived at the front lobby 15 minutes later- the luggage was already in our Redcar that was waiting to bring us to the airport. Overall it was a very enjoyable and relaxing vacation.

We were very disappointed with what was on offer. We arrived at the hotel at 10.00 and there were no sun loungers left around the pool. That's why we went to the beach. The deckchairs were all over the place, not very inviting. What's more, the sunloungers have a sun canopy built right in, which I don't find practical. The deckchairs were cheap, not upholstered and uncomfortable. The beach is small and you have to walk over stones to get into the water. There are no changing rooms, you have to do this in the toilet cubicle. The food is good and the staff are very friendly. We expected a high-end beach resort, but the beach and furniture are of the same standard as public beaches where you can hire sunbeds and umbrellas for much less. Definitely not worth the money, rent the equipment at a public beach instead.

Very nice hotel with amazing views. The biggest upset is the Executive Club, if you want a relaxing time in the club you may not get it! Parents can be extremely disrespectful to others allowing their children to disrupt other paying guest’s time in the club. The club gets turned in Romper Room with unruly children while the parents sip wine and ignore their responsibilities! Screaming kids running around the club is not the experience you go for.
