Grand Hotel Miramare

I can’t say enough about this hotel or the staff. We were offered a beautiful ocean front suite upgrade upon arrival. Champagne and goodies awaited us. The suite was beautiful and the amenities above and beyond luxurious. The food was to to die for. The staff were so attentive and friendly. It was open season week and not very crowded which made it all the more personal and quiet. I would recommend this beautiful hotel over and over. Hope to make it back.

Ho avuto l'opportunità di trascorrere al Grand Hotel Miramare di Santa Margherita Ligure qualche giorno prima di Pasqua insieme alla mia famiglia. Una struttura storica, 5 stelle lusso, membro di The Leading Hotels of the World. L'hotel, struttura storica e di fascino, è completamente rinnovato e curato nel dettaglio, sia negli spazi comuni che nelle camere. Tra le cose più belle la grande piscina esterna riscaldata, incastonata in un curato e ampio giardino rilassante. L'hotel è fronte mare (vista spettacolare), a 5 minuti a piedi dal centro di Santa. Superlativo tutto il personale, giovane, educato, preparato e professionale che ci ha accompagnato e coccolato durante il soggiorno. Un particolare va segnalato, noi famiglia con bambino di 9 anni, abbiamo trovato nell'armadio l'accappatoio della sua taglia, che attenzione!!! Non abbiamo provato il ristorante, ma la colazione è veramente ottima, sia per la varietà che la qualità. Vivamente suggerito (five stars per me) e ci torneremo appena possibile!

The hotel is lovely with gorgeous sea or stunning garden views. The staff is kind and helpful. Breakfast on the terrace, a dream. Some very well done refurbishment has taken place in the lounge area and possibly the rooms too (our room and bathroom was elegant, spacious and comfortable). The bar area is great and the chief bartender is friendly and makes excellent cocktails (I’m sorry I do not recall his name). This is the first time we availed ourselves of the spa and we were not disappointed; therapists Leila and Deborah were excellent!

Great hotel right on the sea. We had a big room with a patio overlooking the rear gardens. The rooms facing the rear tend to be bigger than those facing the ocean. The service was excellent and the included breakfast included both a large buffet and to order items. The front desk was very helpful and assisted in making restaurant reservations and taxis when needed.

With its sumptuous brocade furnishings, exquisite attention to detail and impeccable service, The Grand Hotel Miramare is indeed worthy of its name – a place that delights the senses with an anachronistic perfection seemingly plucked from a 1950s movie. Doris Day might walk off an elevator. Courtly elegance abounds in all the small touches : starched linen cocktail napkins by the bed table, the highly polished intricately inlaid wooden floors, the overflowing silver trays of canapes served with cocktails, the shimmering white wrought iron terraces with invitingly plump curshions to stare out at the Mediterranean. In terms of sophistication and the level of attentive service, this hotel is in the same league as The Connaught in London or Le Bristol in Paris at almost the same price point, a place of privilege for sure. That being said, Santa Margherita Ligure is not a beach resort in the Cape Cod sense of the term so be sure to pack water shoes to navigate the Hotel’s rocky beach. And if money is no object, reserve a boat from Giorgio Mussini of Porto Fino, whose wonderful captain Nicholas is a son of SML and will take you for an unforgettable day to Cinque Terre for lunch and a swim. La Dolce Vita indeed.
