Nice hotel, staff not so much

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Nice hotel and gym, but limited in-house dining, especially for breakfast (Ruth's Chris Steakhouse only). Front desk/in-room dining staff was snobby, condescending, & not very accommodating. To be clear, the staff delivering the food was fine, but the man you called to order was a complete smart alleck who seemed to want to make the guest feel stupid for everything requested.

Perfect downtown hotel for business and pleasure

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

From the reservation until the last day, Jung Hee and her front desk team have been great. Our room on a high floor had a nice view towards the Puget Sound. There are a good Chinese restaurant, a Startbucks and a convenience store adjacent to the hotel and accessible from the lobby. Good breakfast and prompt service by Zaheer in the Chris restaurant. A 10 mins walk to Pike Market and nice walks everywhere from the hotel. Warmly recommended and we will probably return when we are next in Seattle.

The room was great, and the front desk staff was nice. Not happy with how I received points.

The room at Grand Hyatt Seattle was truly luxurious, featuring a breathtaking view of the city and an incredibly calm ambiance. My husband and I almost didn’t want to leave the room to explore the town as it offered such a serene and picturesque experience. The bathroom was gorgeous, equipped with high-end amenities and oversized bath towels, which further enhanced our comfort. However, there were some notable disappointments regarding the elite member benefits. The elevators were extremely slow, causing us and other guests to wait for about five minutes for one to arrive, which was especially painful staying on a nearly top floor. Furthermore, the points system was misleading. The Grand Hyatt Seattle advertised points for dining and spa without a stay, which led us to believe that guests would also earn points when staying at the hotel. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Despite spending over $300 at the Olive 8 Alila Spa, I did not receive the base points for my stay, only bonus points after contacting customer service. Any direct payment at the spa would have earned base points, making the policy quite confusing. Additionally, the website failed to mention that Ruth’s Chris’s was excluded from earning points, which left us disappointed when we didn’t receive any. If I stay here again, I would only stay and not dine or use the spa due to these issues.

It was okay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Bathroom was beautifully pristine looking I booked for four people but they only gave me enough toiletries for one person. Strange that they charged for water, but at least there was a clear sign that says the cost. Obviously, housekeeping was not a thing I could comment on, considering there was a fire that shut down the hotel for most of Saturday that I stayed. No discounts were applied or offered for this.

Be Aware of Parking Fees

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Good location. You don't need a car if you explore download core. We parked our car for 2 days without moving it. Well. I had to pay $150.63 for 45 hour 12 minutes self parking. You had to give them you credit card # when you started parking. After you drove away they text the bill. We phoned the parking manager, he said the rate is every 12 hours, plus fees and taxes. But they have daily rate which was around $37/d, plus fee and tax, which is relevant compare to their valet parking rate $68 per day.

The Elliott Grand Hyatt Seattle was the best hotel experience. It exceeded our expectations. The staff was the best... period. Each member treated my daughter and me as if we were royalty. From the bellmen, to the concierge, each person went the extra step that makes a five-star property shine!
