About the Hotel
Ten centuries of history radiate from the hand-hewn stone walls and terracotta floors at Tuscany's Castel Monastero, the centerpiece of a small medieval village called Monastero dell'Ombrone. The monastery first appeared in correspondence in 1044 in connection with the nearby Berardenga Abbey and over the centuries noble families transformed it into a castle. Thanks to painstaking restoration efforts, the ancient ambiance remains – guests from all over the world go for bespoke experiences, such as a Bentley ride through the Tuscan countryside.

Un soggiorno perfetto: pulizia e comfort
È la seconda volta che soggiorno in questo hotel 5 stelle lusso e, ancora una volta, è stata un’esperienza di totale comfort. La pulizia era impeccabile, grazie a un servizio di housekeeping attento e discreto. La camera era sempre fresca, ordinata e curata nei minimi dettagli. Ideale per chi cerca eleganza e igiene al massimo livello! Anche gli spazi comuni e i giardini erano curati in modo impeccabile: aree verdi ben mantenute e ambienti raffinati che riflettono lo standard di lusso dell’hotel. Sicuramente tornerò ancora in futuro.

5-star property. 1-star hospitality (or lack thereof).
Five star property - beautiful facilities and grounds with large comfortable rooms. One-star for lack of hospitality, passive-agressive front desk staff that regarded us with disdain, lack of concierge service, mediocre restaurant with limited hours, exorbitantly priced 25E cocktails with no food/snack service at the bar, over-priced pre-determined taxi fare and no shuttle to/from Siena. Breakfast was the one exception - plentiful with many varieties of tasty offerings, and pleasant wait staff. Castel Monastero is better suited for a special event buyout than it is for tourists. Recommend staying in Siena as you'll have a lot more options. September 2023.

Ein besonderes Urlaubserlebnis, das man nicht überall findet
Wir waren bereits zum dritten Mal zu Gast. Man erlebt von der ersten Minute an eine echte Freundlichkeit und nichts Aufgesetztes. Alle Mitarbeiter sind sehr engagiert für ihr Hotel und den Gast. Man merkt, dass jemand hinter dem Hotel steht und diesen besonderen Ort mit Leben und Liebe führt. Wunderschöne Zimmer und eine sehr gute Küche. Auch zu empfehlen die Hotelbar.
