COMO Cocoa Island, The Maldives

We had been here before - 2013 to be precise which was utterly terrifying as it felt far more recent than that. We visited three islands on this trip so I waited till the end to write reviews as I wanted to give some comparison. As it happens there really is none as each has its own unique strengths and weaknesses. The only thing that was universal is (pretty much) without exception all the staff we had contact with were fabulous. Coco is a delight. It’s an absolute stunner. The geography of the island is wonderful with perfect unspoiled beaches and a wonderful long sandbar to walk out on at low tide. All the room are over water. Per recommendations on this forum we selected the entry level room as we didn’t want the stairs to the mezzanine or indeed a pool. It was fine except the lounging sofa was not comfortable and as Mr Fleetcat had put his back out really rather difficult. We were helped with a lovely chair which sorted all but I couldn’t help but think two chairs would be an amazing and easily accommodated improvement to the room. Otherwise perfect. The food was super. Fresh seafood and not too fancy and a wee bit local. Ideal for simple eaters like us. Prawn curry was best ever. Breakfast was a bit meh – because it is a small resort the buffet was underwhelming but the cooked parts excellent. We are planning to return to the Maldives next year and at now am pretty certain we will return.

Ein wunderbares Resort, ruhig, persönlich und mit hervorragendem Essen. Das Ankommen und Einchecken verläuft schnell und unkompliziert, das Housecleaning ist hervorragend. Hervorzuheben ist die ausgesprochene Freundlichkeit der Managerin und Ihren Mitarbeitern. Wer Erholung, persönlichen Service und gutes Essen sucht, ist hier wunderbar aufgehoben. Vielen Dank auch an Muru und Deiner immer freundlichen Art. Auch eine Massage sollte im persönlichen Programm stehen, sie ist äußerst zu empfehlen . My family and I stayed in the sunrise villa for five nights and had the most amazing time. From arrival in the airport we were instantly met by hotel staff who took us on a beautiful boat ride to the resort. At the resort the service was unbelievable the staff was so welcoming and accommodating. Our butler Natey was truly the best, he was so attentive to our needs and was always available making our stay special. I also have to recommend the amazing facilities at the hotel, they have a range of water sports and diving and snorkelling expeditions which are accompanied by the knowledgeable marine biologist which I highly recommend trying. The resort also has access to yoga and meditation classes running various times throughout the day led by their instructor Nok who ran the most amazing classes. Overall I cannot recommend this hotel enough it truly is paradise!

We recently stayed at COMO Cocoa Island and had the most incredible experience — truly one of the best holidays we’ve ever had. We stayed in the one-bedroom villa with a private pool, and it was nothing short of amazing. The room was beautifully designed, spotlessly clean, and incredibly comfortable. The bed felt like sleeping on a cloud, and the spacious bathroom, complete with an outdoor shower, offered a stunning view that made every morning feel magical. The food at the restaurant exceeded all expectations. While there is only one restaurant, the menu changes regularly and offers an impressive variety of delicious dishes. Every meal was a treat — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The service was where COMO Cocoa Island truly shined. Every staff member we met was kind, attentive, and always had a smile. A special mention has to go to our butler, Binoy, who was the best we’ve ever had. He was incredibly professional, always available when we needed him, but never intrusive — the perfect balance. His warmth and efficiency made our stay even more special. The COMO level of service never disappoints, and this stay was no exception. Everything on the island worked flawlessly, the cleanliness was impeccable, and the whole experience felt effortless and relaxed. The island itself is a tropical dream. The beach is pure paradise — soft white sand and crystal-clear waters. And the snorkeling was some of the best we’ve experienced: we saw countless reef sharks, turtles, stingrays, and a dazzling variety of colorful fish just steps from our villa.
