Seated majestically on one of the world’s most beautiful harbours, Park Hyatt Sydney perfectly personifies contemporary harbourside luxury with its coveted location between the iconic Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Reminiscent of an exclusive harbourside residence, Park Hyatt Sydney offers intimate surrounds with architecture, art and design that reflect the Australian landscape.

This is my favorite urban hotel in the world. The opera house facing rooms are jaw-dropping, and spotless, the service is attentive, the breakfast is wonderful, the beds are the comfiest. This was my second stay, and I know that if I stayed anywhere else in the vicinity, I would wish that I was here. I will be back!

We finished our 5 week Oz tour in Sydney and thought we would finish with a bang. We booked a King Opera View room, which was lovely. The room was on the 1st floor and had great views out over the harbour and opera house. The hotel breakfasts are amazing although the service can be a bit variable, especially on a Sunday morning. Overall very very happy with this hotel and its location and would definitely stay here again.

We were booked into the Park Hyatt Sydney in March for 2 stays, one at the beginning and one at the end of our Australian spring break. We had two completely different experiences. Our first stay, we had booked two opera deluxe view rooms and we were shown to glorious rooms on the top floor with a stunning opera view. See pic. Service was top notch. Breakfast was one of the best breakfasts that I’ve ever had at a hotel. Pool is beautiful. Rooms are fabulous. Service was so personal and friendly. 5 Stars all the way!. Then we returned 7 days later for our second stay. Booked into the same room category (opera view deluxe room / this time with a second city view room for the teens). This time we were shown to rooms on the first floor. They did not have elevator access and the 1st floor rooms are up a flight of stairs from the lobby. No one offered to help with our bags so we shlepped them up a set of stairs. I’ve never stayed in a five star branded hotel that required stairs to get to premium rooms. And the view was a complete disappointment. In addition, and perhaps worst of all, 1st floor rooms are level with the lawn overlooking the opera house. On a sunny day, there can be a hundred people sitting on that lawn literally looking straight into your room a couple of feet away. Again see pic of a similar room. After discussing it with the front desk, they confirmed that the two VERY different rooms were the same category and said they were unable to move us. They also said that a manager was “unavailable”. After discussing it we went back to the room, grabbed our bags, carried them down the flight of stairs and told them we were declining to stay and were moving to the Crown Hotel. As we awaited our uber, a manager came running out to the driveway. She apparently was available. She was shocked we were leaving. I don’t understand why. We returned for two stays in 10 days and they didn’t seem to value our business. Side note….we paid 40% less at the Crown hotel. The experience was very different (think Vegas) but Darling harbor is a treat. We decided it was a toss up. Both had pros and cons. If you book the Park Hyatt, and I recommend it, I would call 2-3 x before arrival to ask where your room is and ensure you are not on the 1st floor.

The view from the hotel is just everything- you could see the harbour and the opera house! Rooms are spacious, comfortable beds, clean, bathrooms are huge and have everything you need. Stuff is kind, always accommodating, genuinely taking care of guests! We loved the hotel and will only go there if in Sydney!

A fantastic location with warm welcoming staff. The view of the Opera House during the day and at night was beautiful. We enjoyed our stay so much we extended an extra night to take in more sights. We enjoyed the harbour by ferry, and the walk to Darling Harbour
