Okay guys let me get this straight up when on my checking our check in was expected to be smooth until the manager said that they wanted us to pay even more for our stay fares. First thing I HAVE NO IDEA WHY WOULD THIS GUY WANTED TO PAY SOME EXTRA MORE MONEY FOR OUR FARES! Then I have no choice but to pay all my extra money for this, WHICH FROM NOW ON I CANNOT BARELY ENJOY MY REMAINING 2-3 DAYS JUST BECAUSE OF ALL MY SPECIFIC AMOUNT OF MONEY FOR THIS TRIP!

My friend and I stayed at the Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel on our recent trip to Tokyo. The hotel is modern, elegant, and lovely--very close to the Shibuya station, and the staff were friendly and professional. Our room was clean and quiet, with a minibar, coffee maker, and L'Occitane bath products. (The water pressure in the shower was excellent!) We enjoyed the many choices at the breakfast buffet, and the coffee was prepared as we requested. The one complaint is that the hotel gym is open only limited hours (9 am - 9 pm). This makes it virtually unusable for those who work out early or late. We had stayed in top hotels in Osaka, Hiroshima, and Kyoto prior to Tokyo, and all the hotels there had gyms open 24 hours to guests. With that one caveat, we enjoyed our stay at the Cerulean Tower Tokyu.

We had a very disappointing stay at the Cerulean Tower Hotel in Tokyo. The rooms were dusty and clearly not cleaned properly, which was unacceptable for a hotel at this price point. The breakfast was terrible — so much so that we asked to cancel the remaining two days of our breakfast booking. The staff simply said they couldn’t do anything and offered no resolution whatsoever. Customer service was poor throughout, and for what you're paying, it's absolutely not worth it. There are far better options in Tokyo — I’d recommend a Hilton or Marriott instead. Sadly, this was one of the worst hotel experiences we’ve had. Avoid if you value cleanliness, decent food, and good service.

We (two couples) stayed two nights at the Cerulean at the tail end of a two-week trip. We wanted to experience Shibuya, and the Cerulean is definitely in the heart of it! We won’t forget emerging from the subway into the Shuibuya Crossing at 7:30 at night with the gazillions of people and the lights. Definitely an experience! Overall, there are some really great things about the Cerulean. It’s showing its age a bit, but the rooms and the beds were comfortable, the city views from the room were great, the room temperature control was great, the shower temp/pressure was great, and we appreciated the in-room fridge and coffee machine. We had reserved the last two rooms available for those two nights, and one of us got a superior king room, which had a much nicer bathroom with a large enclosed shower and tub area than the “regular” king which had a dated bathtub/shower with a shower curtain. We spent three evenings having cocktails and a few noshes while enjoying the live music at the Bellovisto “rooftop” bar, which has magnificent views of the city and was a highlight of our hotel stay. Great cocktails, very good if spendy wine, and really good snacks (truffle fries, cheese plate, etc). We also loved the staff, who were very friendly and helpful. A couple issues that could use improvement. The hotel does need a bit of a refresh in the rooms. The gym is chock-a-block crammed full of cardio and weight training equipment as to be almost unusable, so you really do need to be patient with your fellow gym rats and also hope no one is sick, sigh. Tripling the floor space would be a good idea. We tried dinner one night in the casual hotel on the lobby level, and while our seafood pasta was delish, a club sandwich with not-quite-defrosted fries was inedible. As a side note, we had had our big luggage shipped from our Kyoto hotel to the Cerulean, which was cheap and seamless (totally recommend this service!) and so when we arrived, we had only our overnight bags with us. On leaving The Cerulean, we had the hotel reserve a large taxi for four people to get us to Haneda (10000 yen) vs lugging all our stuff through the station, which we thought was 100% worth it. We all thought the Cerulean is an excellent option if you want to experience Shibuya or make it a base to travel from as long as you’re not intimidated by the enormous labyrinthine station.

One of the best hotel experiences of our lives: from the staff, to the restaurants, to the views. We had an amazing time with our family of five. We also like how the tower is near the “quieter“ area of Shibuya (Sakuragaokacho), though walking to the action-packed side of Shibuya was very easy. Sakuragaokacho is not to be slept on. Big thanks to Toshi-san (Toshikatsu) and all of the staff for making our stay so lovely. The Cerulean Tower is a wonderful hotel run by wonderful people. We hope to come again.
