The Strings by InterContinental Tokyo earns consistent accolades as Japan’s top hotel, and from a room on one of its top floors, it’s easy to survey the competition. Tokyo’s skyline envelops the hotel, adding a glamorous backdrop to interiors designed with simplicity and traditional Japanese aesthetics. Meals under the glass bridge in the atrium are an elegant affair, but The Strings’s central location means delectable local eats are close at hand. Try scouting a cozy izakaya near the Tsukiji Fish Market – it’s the largest seafood market in the world, and there are scores of ultra-fresh sushi joints nearby.

Excellent location near the train station with great connectivity yet peaceful and quiet area in the evening to wind down, the hotel is located on the 26th floor onwards so nice views of the city. The rooms were nice, clean and spacious room, the service was very good and overall a wonderful place to stay.

- Super convenient location, next to Shinagawa train station, with canopy all along the way. - Excellent service at club lounge and buffet breakfast. - Helpful room arrangement for anniversary. - Luxury view from the window -- tokyo skylines & train station (while almost no noise). Ms. Srijana and Ms. Hasegawa at club lounge are excellent! They speaks perfect English, and remembers your dietary preference.

Great stay at Intercontinental The Strings. The Shinagawa area is not the most exciting (we prefer not to be in the middle of the hustle and bustle of the city) but well connected to all of Tokyo’s major spots via the Yamamoto line (JR). Pros: amazing club lounge (a bit small but the service is top notch !), staff very friendly and helpful all around the hotel. Restaurant chef attentive and helpful - great breakfast assortment (even for us, vegetarian). Cons: Housekeeping/turn down service was a bit weird in not removing empty bottles of consumed drinks…. Tip to the hotel: a larger bin in the room would have been appreciated, the one we had was a doll-house size and we could hardly dispose of anything in it, which is a bit troublesome when traveling in a country where there are very little trash bins anywhere else.

Really nice experience. My first time in an intercontinental hotel at it was really good. The attention to detail is really good. From the good smell on the installations, to the service offered by the staff. Even the food was really good. I was worried at first because sometimes food is lacking but both dinner and breakfast were really good. I was really happy to see that there are options for everyone in the breakfast. Japanese traditional breakfast, fruit, vegetables, ham, sausages , eggs, pancakes, juice, yogurt, etc. I feel that the breakfast was one of the best part. The room was really clean and nice. I could hear any noise from other rooms so I was able to rest well, and the pillows are so soft and nice, that I was able to rest really well. Anyway, It was worth its price.

Nice cozy rooms, nice bathroom concept, great breakfast and excellent Club Intercontinental Lounge! Chinese Restaurant „China Shadow“ is also recommended. Breakfast buffet selection is awesome. Signature Cocktails are also very good.
