Originally the residence of the Prince of Württemberg, the Hotel Imperial showcases the romance of 19th-century Vienna. This member of The Starwood Luxury Collection is located on the magnificent Ring Boulevard, and its interior is a wonderland of hand-carved statues and spectacular crystal chandeliers. Expressing the elegance of yesteryear, bedrooms are cocooned in silk, and breathtaking Royal Suites exude an aristocratic flair. Furthering the indulgence is Imperial Restaurant, with its feasts for the senses, and Café Imperial, immersing you in the cityâ€(TM)s beloved coffeehouse tradition.

The good—location and bell hop. The bad—everything else. My husband and I are in Austria to celebrate his 60th birthday. I couldn’t decide between Hotel Sacher and Imperial and finally went with Imperial because I am a Bonvoy member. Sure wish I had not made that decision. First—again, we are here to celebrate my husband’s 60th birthday. I contacted the concierge before arrival to order sparking wine for the room as a nice way to start our four-night stay and celebration. The concierge sold me on a hotel pickup, which was nice. I was initially confused about our flight time arrival, so I emailed back to let him know. I was evidently talking to more than one person when I thought it was the same one. Because of this impersonal touch, the change in flight arrival was not communicated and, thus, the welcome wine I ordered was not waiting for us. Huge let down. I went to let the front desk to let them know that I wanted to cancel the order. I was very disappointed bc it was a moment I would not get back. The woman could not have cared less. But that has been the attitude the entire time. At check in, there was no nice greeting. When you walk in, there are usually two to three people behind the reception desk. NONE of them greet you. Ever. Our room has a bench at the end of the bed with the lining hanging down almost to the ground. That was the first site we saw when we checked into the tiny room. Incredibly shabby. AC does not cool well. Overall, huge disappointment. Wish we would have stayed at Hotel Sacher. Such a warm, warm reception when we walked into that hotel tonight. Don’t believe the reviews about this hotel. I wish I hadn’t.

From the moment you enter the from door and enter the lobby you are transported to another world where service and satisfaction to the guests is, and remains, priority #1. If Vienna did not have so many great things to see and do, a stay at the Hotel Imperial would be a vacation in and of itself. No detail is too small to be overlooked in ensuring every guest does not just have a stay, but rather an experience. As a guest, it is easy to think that such excellence is a force of nature like the sun and the rain. It is not. It is because of the dedication and hard work of the staff/team that work in the Hotel Imperial: and i mean from the doorman who first greets you, to the cleaning staff, to the people who welcome you at the front desk at check in. So, in this regard we would like to mention a few people by name, who again, made our recent stay a most memorable one: the chief concierge, Mr. Dieter Ludewig, and his colleagues at the front desk, Ms. Sonja al-Jarrah, Ms. Claudia Steinmetz, Mr. Rafael Schuster, and the head of guest relations, Mr. Attila Sallai. And a special shout out goes to Ms. Ruth Malaev, the chief of guest reservations. Thank you all. Everything you did for us is most appreciated. See you next time.

This hotel was amazing! The room we stayed in was gorgeous! It was definitely one of the nicest hotel rooms I have ever stayed in. Especially for a European city hotel. The room was unbelievably quiet. The pillows and bed were so comfortable. I slept better in this hotel than I sleep in my own bed at home. The room was so spacious. There was plenty of room for my husband, daughter, and I to spread out. My daughter was on a rollaway bed, and it was quite large and comfy. They gave us fresh water bottles every day which was no nice given all of the walking we did throughout the city. The location was a short walk from all of the best sites. We did not have time to enjoy the breakfast in the cafe downstairs but on our last day they made us a little takeaway package of danish for our road-trip which was so nice! I would definitely stay here again!

We stayed a week at the Imperial and loved every minute of it! From walking into the grand lobby of the hotel, to the friendly greeting we received from the front desk staff and our very comfortable room. We spent most evenings in the gorgeous Imperial Bar. We cannot thank Lydia's team (which consists of Alex, Gaston, Victoria, Dimitri and Friederike), enough for their attentiveness, quality drinks and friendly conversations! I loved the tour of the hotel and learned a lot about the history of this beautiful palace. I feel bad about not getting the name of the concierge that took us on the tour, but he was super friendly and very knowledgeable!! The only area for improvement would be the housekeeping dept. I felt that several things were missed throughout the week, but they were minor details and definitely did not change my opinion of this fabulous hotel. Thank you!
