Baur au Lac

Great location for getting to know Zurich. Less than one block to walk to the lake. Surprisingly large and park-like garden with gorgeous trees and flowers. Delicious dinners at the Baur restaurant, and the best breakfasts we've ever had (not kidding!) at Marguita's. Beautifully appointed, quiet bedroom with a balcony view of the canal. Comfortable bed and pillows (including a knee pillow!). The bedroom had plush furniture, lots of decorative mirrors, crown molding throughout the room, rounded ceiling molding, automated drapes, dimmable lights, USB-A ports, free mini-bar items, fresh fruit assortment, and many luxury features. We would return in a heart beat!

This is in the crème de la crème of hotels globally. Came back for a friend, for her to experience the ‘fine’ interior environs of Baur au Lac . The rooms are exquisitely designed, thought has been given to the finest detail, and the mattresses & pillows are divine. Service everywhere is thoughtful, precise, subtly considerate but ruthlessly efficient. The restaurant food is good, the bar now expanded is nice, where most bar staff met Baur au Lac standards easily but for one who was not exactly on par with his colleagues. This is a place to be experienced, worth the price tag which is a king’s ransom but for business an ideal spot and for recreation & romance equally unparalleled.

We loved the food in the main restaurant, also the grandezza of the old building, the atmosphere right at the lake, and for me the particular highlight is the quasi-secret cigar lounge. Prices are skyhigh, but that's par for the course in Zurich, and the Nr. 1 Hotel in town.

Fantastic luxury palace at the heart of Zurich Its location is exceptional, by the lake but close to all amenities , shoping, restaurants, old town, universities, lake and so on. The service of this five star hotel is as good as one can expect from such a high standard accommodation. Eating the breakfast, which is amazingly diverse and delicious, by the canal and enjoying the lake view provides also a unique experience. This was simply a wonderful stay !

A beautiful hotel with nice decoration where style and aristocracy meets. We loved everything from the hotel atmosphere to the kindest staff, super tasty and delicious food. The hotel is very clean, like most in Swiss, looks elegant and warm. We didn't like the mattress, few vanity kit in the bathroom, there were no dental set and combo, have to ask for them. But, overall this hotel impresses you. The location is just a few steps to the center brand shops, so just perfect. Wish to have been served a welcome drink at the arrival as it is a 5 star hotel and no welcome drinks we were offered. Breakfast and dinner were fantastic and delicious.
